Originally broadcast via
the transmitters of Radio Monte Carlo

Hugh Nolan plays an eclectic selection including tracks from the then yet to be released Captain
Beefheart album, "Lick My Decals Off Baby". Clearly an advance
white label copy, Hugh gives no track titles and is unsure of
the label, surmising that this is the last Beefheart album to be released
on Zappa's Straight Label, before moving to Reprise. It is known that
BBC R1 presenter John Peel, keen Beefheart
aficionado, gave promo copies of albums to Radio Geronimo -
especially when
he knew that the BBC would not allow him to play
embargoed pre releases.
This important release from Captain Beefheart has been off
catalogue for several years and, in 2013, it is still not
available on CD...

"Radio Geronimo
1970 recorded in Maastricht.
Hallo chaps, what a buzz finding the web-site!
Such a shame Hugh Nolan is no longer on the Planet.
His voice on my one cassette of Radio Geronimo
always takes me to a some of the best days of my life."
